I hate the secretaries at work.
They're very nice people, but they cannot do their job properly. Being fake nice on my part is getting harder and harder every week, but >:( If I call Thursday afternoon to cancel work on Saturday, you have all of Friday and Saturday morning to call up all 10 students and say I'm not coming (grandmother's funeral on Saturday). Their excuse? "It was last minute." Pfffft. I'm gonna throttle them this following weekend.

for (i=random_thought; i != blank; i=next_random_thought) { print(i); }

I smell like a melange of male perfumes.
We had a family gathering today, and as usual, I had plenty of bear hugs from my uncles who believe drowning themselves half to death in cologne is à la mode. Top that with a hint of cigarettes and that distinctive air of ... je ne sais quoi... oh, I know: "old people smell".

CUTC (canadian undergraduate technology conference--I believe (correct me if I'm wrong (too lazy to verify))) commenced today. I hope tomorrow's tech shop (with Apple) will be better than today's mundane seminars. The mints they gave out for free helped me stay conscious and drool-free, though. It would be amazing if Apple lets us play with their iPhone.. and if they do, I promise to grab as many as I can and make a run for it like a mad woman just for you guys. ^^ Click here to discover how embarrassing your phone actually is: http://www.apple.com/iphone/phone/

! note ! Gretchen moved her blog to: sleeping with a gun under my pillow
You can also find the updated link to her blog along the sidebar for future reference.

Apuleius's Cupid & Psyche (4th book of The Golden Ass) was really pretty to read, even if a bit too short. I need to find more Greek/Roman mythology-based literature--if you have any recommendations that don't weigh as much as the Iliad, please let me know!

Even though it's late: Happy New Year!
My New Year's Resolution: be nicer to people. Genuinely.
