Sticker bribery

I actually made the effort to buy stickers for my students. (gasp). The ones on the left are lame. The ones on the right are exciting. Ergo, the left ones are for boys. The right ones are for girls. ^^ jk. I highly doubt my kids are going to practice harder just to get a sticker. I still think that my R A R E, once-in-a-blue-moon compliments are reward enough.

Some fun reads:

(1) If you need to hack up some reception for your phone (instead of carrying it around like a metal detector, searching for a signal), here's one way to accomplish that.

(2) Another reason that shows why men are dogs.

Procrastination

mmm... caaake...

I'm waiting for my dad and brother to get home, so I decided to add a quick blurb re: my cake I finished icing a few hours ago (it's currently chilling inside my fridge).
It's supposed to be a chocolate cupcake cake (ie: round cake with cupcakes on top), but my mom threw our round cake pans away and I got lazy with the cupcakes. But I'm ok with the fruity chocolate cake ^^v I doubt the fruit is going to go well with the chocolate though.... but meh; it's all for the presention, really.
A problem with it is the strawberry jam I used. It's homemade jam, but, like last year's, my mom made it too runny. So it looks like my cake's bleeding. T_T

In case you're wondering WHY I made it in the first place, it's because it's for my dad's birthday. (Happy birthday, Dad! (Although I know you won't see this :P)) My mom's been cooking up a storm and I'm friggin' hungry. Where are they? Grrr...

A/C's a beautiful thing. I stepped outside today, choked on the hot air, and scurried back in.

To forget is to forgive

After switching rooms with my brother, I had no place to store most of my books, so I decided to stack them up one after another on the floor. (My old shelf is the kind that you nail into the wall.)

WOo, it's tall; almost my height, although that's not saying much, since I'm not that tall anyway; I've kept most of my books since first year, sold a few, and have some on my table top that I'm using right now. (The top 7 don't count as school texts :P)
Any estimates on how much this stack costs? ^^;

Given that publishers love churning out new editions (that are oftentimes just the same old edition with a newer cover and higher price tag), this stack's value is probably at the low hundreds. If I were to sell these all to the U of T bookstore, though, this stack's value would be in the low tens. -__-'' Cheap bastards (*shakes fist*)

I'll probably hold onto these books, though, cuz it makes me feel like I did a lot of something for the past 4 years. :)

Mio nome è Mona Lisa

"A Japanese acoustics expert claims to have figured out what Mona Lisa's voice would have sounded like, based on the shape of her skull and an estimation of her overall size(.)"

From the link, you can hear a demonstration of what she would've sounded like. (There's a 15 second ad that you have to sit through first.)

option 4: move

A few entries ago, I noted that I would eventually have to push some older entries onto a separate page, which, in turn, would break my code that dealt with comments (since the way I identified each comment window with each entry had to do with the way I parsed it). I said that I could:
- (option 1) revert to my old ways and blog once in a millenia;
- (option 2) just let all entries stay on one page and have the scrollbar become infinitessimally thin;
- (option 3) fix the code.

I should've added a fourth option: Move my site back to Blogger.com.
Well here it is. Older entries and comments can still be accessed here.

Please update your bookmarks to "http://jennifer-tracy.blogspot.com/"! Thanks ^^
